We are different, we are the same: Teaching young children about diversity through football.
Diversity activities teach young children to respect and celebrate the differences in all people. Learning about different cultural aspects offers new experiences for them.
Our football environment also helps them realize that we're all humans, despite differences in how we look or dress, or what we eat or celebrate.
Football offers a fun way for young children to learn about differences and similarities among people and to introduce the concept of diversity.
All types of differences such as race, religion, language, traditions, and gender can be introduced this way!
先日5チームで交流戦を行いました。日本のチームや私達と同じ様に外国籍の子達とのMIXチームも参加してくれました
改めてサッカーを通して子ども達が学べる事が沢山あると感じました。
「多様性」は私達のキーワードです。練習ではなかなか言葉の壁で会話が出来なくても、試合の中でチームとして勝利を目指す事で生まれる団結力は言葉の壁をその瞬間から取り払ってくれます。
サッカーを通して、肌の色も話す言葉も食べる主食も宗教も文化も違う子ども達が同じ目的を持って多様性を少しずつ理解し、喜びも悔しさも分かち合える集団になって欲しいです。
そしてそれが英語を自発的に学ぶきっかけになれば嬉しい。私は多様性の本当の意味を海外で生活するまで分かりませんでしたが、自らの経験を生かした多様性に溢れたチーム作りを目指していきたいですね♪
